(Osiris was supposed to be a girl called Isis cos she's the Egyptian Goddess of health among any other things, and I thought that was quite fitting for my medical problems. Trouble is, "Isis" developed a couple of problems

He's having them off this Friday!

(Yes that's "Great Uncle Fudge" they're snuggling up to in that picture. We've been lucky that all our cats have got on well with each other. Hermione and Osiris were 5 weeks old when we brought them home. The boys got used to them and then soon untill they were about 6 months old they'd "Suckle" from Fudge. *__* Yes you read that right. They're all soppy with each other. Osiris will curl up, wash or gentle play fight with the poppets frequently even though he's un neutered, just like a male lion does with cubs. It's so sweet to watch)

i had 7 cats at one point though. none of them were fixed.. we gave them away except for the ugly one.

he exploded...

now we have 3 cats.

i hate one of them, but the other two are cool.

We have a zoo here.

1 Nanday Conure Parrot
1 Ferret
1 Chinchilla
1 Beagle
2 Dachshunds (will be more within the next couple of days because 1 is pregnant)
4 different types of Axolotl
7 different types of Salamander
Tropical fish
3 different types of frog
Anoles
Bearded Dragons
Field Vole
about 12 different species of turtle roughly 30 total (I would have to go count)

I am probably missing somebody. I have raised and handled everything from Degus and Prairie Dogs to Crocs, Gators, and large Monitor Lizards. My kids grew up handling exotic reptiles.

Why do I have to be branded a crazy cat person just because I want to have more than two or three cats. It really hurts my feelings when people say that.

Your not a crazy cat person because you have 5 cats... when you have 50, then we can start with the "crazy"

It's never bothered me much tho - except during those times where my spouse starts to turn purple if he sees me with a yet another new animal in my hands... lol

Animals are more 'people' to me than people. They're also, to me, more interesting half the time.

My mom took me to an exotic pet store once when I was young (because she liked snakes) and the owner's daughter took charge of me (same age)... when my mom went to retrieve me, I was happily playing with three tarantulas and some kind of really cool lizard. Good stuff, made me very unphobic about and compassionate toward nonfurry animals.

However, for furry cuteness, here is my Siberian "Hussy" (we call her that because she knows no strangers and given the opportunity would happily introduce burglars to valuables in return for an ear rub):

We take her camping a lot--she's on a gravel pad here waiting for her dishes to be unpacked and the tents set. She's a good traveler and camper except for her penchant for playing with snakes. She enjoys it but the snakes apparently do not. She hasn't been bitten, thank goodness, but her playmates tend to not linger in her vicinity.

Wouldn't mind 3 or so cats myself one day. Long as the housing supports it. I just like them keeping each other company while I'm out working.

Don't mind fish either, but they can be a bother to clean up after. We had a goldfish no bigger then your pinky finger grow to be a rather large giant of a whale. He lived for about 6-7 years. Thought he was never going to die off and out live me!

If anything, I'd like some of those small little rainbow type of fish. Zips around and stuff. =)

Yay, she lives! I was afraid I'd be lynched by your bevy of beaux for doing you in.

Thanks for the compliment. My dog really is gorgeous and so sweet-natured, but be warned, Huskies are extremely independent and strong-willed. I adopted her from a friend of mine who was moving overseas and I really had to work to imprint on her. Now she's my shadow and loves me, but I still can't let her go anywhere without a lead--not even from the front door to the car. She'll take off in a flash (she is FAST) and won't hear you call (she's also selectively DEAF

). Not the easiest or best-trained dog in the world, but we're pack and she's just right to me.
